Lights Out: A Cyberattack, A Nation Unprepared, Surviving the Aftermath by Ted Koppel
Winter War: Hoover, Roosevelt, and the First Clash Over the New Deal by Eric Rauchway
The Island at the Center of the World: The Epic Story of Dutch Manhattan and the Forgotten Colony That Shaped America by Russell Shorto
This was a gift from a friend, George Whipple. It took me six months and two false starts to read it, but I have and i’m grateful. I have yet to search for the ancient Dutch bricks around the Financial District, but I do think of the Native American trail that was once Broadway almost every time I see the street sign. Also, what an incredible job Charles Gehring fell into (not that having a somewhat obscure doctorate in a no-longer-used language would qualify him as falling into it, but it didn’t exactly sound like he had other plans).
The Passion According to Carmela by Marcos Aguinis
I hated this book. I hated almost every moment of this book. I really did not enjoy this. It was short and I find the time period/place interesting, but I do not get the fuss. At. All.
