What Happened & Today
I took a month off - and then we transplanted ourselves for seven weeks, and then we bought a house and popped open a whole new life in a new state.
Reading came back but it did so as something I needed in a different way. Everything about our life right now feels a bit rushed. Kids to school, work, kids, activities, cooking, work, exercise. Reading fits in and around all of those bits - it’s my constant mental exploration.
Cooking dinner, thinking about Meriwether Lewis. Reading about lifespan and brain health and the experience of Filipinos during Spanish colonization. It’s hard to focus on a single book at once, because I’m always flipping between things, and always looking for the references, the deeper cuts, the best things in the bibliographies.
