Where I've been
When I started 500 Pages a Week, it was a way to document what I was reading, what I was thinking, and how books were shaping my view of the world. I had almost no time, little energy, and a lot of curiosity - and perspective through reading was how I made sense of everything around me.
And then life changed.
In 2020, I welcomed my third child. The world turned upside down in many ways. My reading didn’t stop entirely, but it shifted. So did my writing. My focus turned to new projects, new rhythms, and a different kind of daily learning - through a new kind of parenting in a rural area, my work with Alchemy + Aim, and, in many ways, a totally new life. We’ve traveled a lot, which has changed my perspective.
This site has been quiet since then, but I’ve never stopped reading. I am part of a team of readers and I’m always crowdsourcing reads from my incredible clients. I run book clubs for my kids and their friends. I run a book club on my street so our neighbors become friends. I write through all my paper books and I still read heavily on kindle and some audible.
I don’t know yet what this space will become. Maybe I’ll share new reads here from time to time. Maybe I’ll turn it into something else. But I wanted to leave a marker here for now. Lately, I’ve read:
Up to Speed by Christine Yu
Babel by R.F. Kuang
rereading Dare to Lead by Brene Brown
